Practice Areas

Eminent Domain -- I represent individuals, businesses, developers, cities, counties, school districts and agencies in eminent domain actions. I represent condemnors and condemnees in the acquiring and taking of real property, real property interests, businesses, fixtures and equipment, goodwill, damages and relocation. My eminent domain practice includes both direct condemnation (property taken by direct action by an entity with condemnation power) and inverse condemnation (action taken by property owner for taking or damage to property).

Real Estate -- I represent individuals, agricultural clients, businesses, commercial clients and developers in all proceedings and transactions concerning real property. The proceedings include purchase and sale, leasing, disclosures, due diligence, broker responsibilities, development, construction, escrow, financing, foreclosure, quiet title and zoning.

Construction Defect -- I represent owners, contractors, developers, design professionals and material suppliers in all aspects of the construction process. The process includes concept, professional contracts, design, document preparation, bidding, contract negotiation and formation, construction performance, delay and changed conditions, warranty, mechanics and material supplier liens, stop notices, claims and claim documentation, dispute resolution and litigation.

Homeowner Association -- I represent homeowner associations, individual homeowners, boards of directors, officers and managers with respect to common interest developments. The areas of representation include general corporate counsel advice; construction defects; covenant, condition and restriction enforcement and modification; use restrictions; assessment collection; board resolutions; disciplinary proceedings; opinion letters; premise liability; inter-community conflicts and intra community conflicts. Member of the Community Associations Institutes.

Business Litigation -- I represent individuals, business owners, partners, shareholders, partnerships, limited partnerships, corporations, and limited liability entities concerning their business. The areas of representation include collection, operation, owner liability, director liability, officer liability, dissolution, reformation, rights and duties, uniform commercial code, contract disputes, performance disputes and liability.

Personal Injury -- I represent individuals who are injured in their person, property, rights or reputation from actions or inactions by others. The areas of representation include negligence, intentional conduct, outrageous conduct, automobile accidents, motorcycle accidents, dangerous or defective products, unsafe premises, wrongful death and infliction of emotional distress.

Employment -- I represent employers and employees concerning the laws that control the relationship and treatment of employers, employees, former employees and applicants for employment. The areas of representation include employment contracts, discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, whistle blower litigation, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act and other laws concerning the employment relationship.

Municipal -- I represent municipalities and citizens concerning the areas of powers and liabilities of State, County, City, Redevelopment Agencies, Special Districts and School Districts concerning authority, powers, liabilities and rights. The areas of representation include land use, zoning, conditional use permits, injuries to person, injuries to property, by municipal governments and municipal employees.

Commercial and General Business -- I represent individuals and businesses in selecting the proper business entity under which to operate, preparation of agreements, sale and purchase of businesse s, disputes, financing, licensing, operations, business transactions and related litigation. The areas of representation include business formation, operation, dissolution and litigation.
